MB Maintenance Disc Has Me Confused
I want to replace the differential mount on my '77 280E. MB says there are 2 versions, the newer starting in 1979. The dealer just told me there is now just one version for all W115 and W123 cars. The problem is that the maintenance disc gives two different torque settings for the 2 big bolts (20 Nm difference) and a 5 Nm difference for the 4 bolts that hold the mount to the chasis. Does anyone know which settings I should use?

Normal torque for a 8mm bolt that has a 8.8 hardness is 18-20 Nm.
Normal torque for a 10mm 8.8 hardness bolt is 40-45 Nm. The trans mount nut doesn't need to be torqued. |
MB DOC, I'm talking about the two bolts connecting the differential/rear axle cover to the mount. The heads are 22mm hex. The MB disc says 120Nm or 140Nm depending on earlier or late version of mount. The problem is that both versions have been superseded by one mount.

120Nm is correct.

Thanks!
