please help : need part number for alternator

I am doing an alternator upgrade to my 190E 2.3 16v. I am going from the normal output 70 amp AL65x bosch alternator to the high output 80 Amp Bosch alternator an AL66X. It mounts right up, but the rear of the alternator is very close to the exhaust headers. The OEM alternator comes with a rear cover and a heat shield. I am looking for a cover and a heat shield for the AL66x. It is from a 87-90 2.6 190E or a 87 to 91 or so w124 300E. Lots of other models use the AL66X too. I just need a cover for the rear of the alt or a heat shield that will mount up to the rear of the AL66X Bosch alternator. It is larger in diameter that the AL65X so the OEM 16v cover and shield will not work and the alternator is so close the headers I think it will need a shield. Thanks.

EPC online trick

He explained to me that when parts are shown on the EPC online parts catalog diagrams but the parts list states that the part is not needed, or not for the model in question it is because the filters are turned on and are telling the program to not show parts that are not relevant to the model you looked up. The diagram may be used for a number of different submodels so some parts are not necessary for the specific model. In this case, I needed the part that was shown to work with the alternator but was not needed for that model. I could see the picture of the part in the diagram but I could not see any part number information or availability notes. SO...Steveb taught me that if you go up to the filter icon button at the top left of the screen and bring up the filters screen you can turn off all the filters and when you return to the parts screen the part information showing the part number and other info will be shown. It was exactly what I needed to get a part number for the alternator rear cover that was shown but was filtered out.

I am going to try to order the cover and have found a few other cover part numbers from the search that I will check availability on that might work. I still have not found a metal heat shield part number for the AL66X or AL165X Bosch alternator. Any help there would be appreciated.

alt cover part numbers

So I ran out of luck. Found 4 part numbers for alternator rear covers for the AL66X Bosch series alt and all of them are out of production and not available. Guess I may be fabricating something. Anybody have a bosch alternator with a heat shield on it that they can give me year make and model so i can try to order one?
