Location temp sender for fan clutch 190E

My fan clutch is not getting the signal to activate when needed.

If I jump across the two single wires that connect to two of the three terminals on the forward (toward radiator) sensor, the fan clutch will engage.

Does this mean that my forward sensor is bad? Does it need to be replaced?

Help with this will be most appreciated.

The 1993 car uses a BLACK 3 pole temp sensor for the fan clutch.

THE 2 pins in the same connector controls the relay for the fan clutch.

OK Doc thanks. We are saying the same thing just in two different languages. You speaking Mercedes-Benzeese and me making up terms as best I can.

So I'm going to assume that the temp sender is bad because the clutch will only operate when I jump across the two terminals you speak of. (The black plastic has disintegrated off the terminals thus allowing me to jump across them while the clutch wires are connected to them.) I ordered a new sending unit
