want to install ASD/LSD in a w124 300e
I've bought two w124 300e's, one a good working car and another as a spares car as its automatic transmission is stuffed.
I think my spares car may have an asd as the diff has a little hardline going into it and a reservoir for something under the bonnet that i can't figure out so i'm guessing its this (it doesn't have self leveling suspension btw) If it is does anyone know how worthwhile it would be to transfer it over? i hear they work a little even without the pressure. thanks in advance |
Follow the link to a write-up we did a few years ago on fitting ASD diffs to non-ASD vehicles.

AFAIK, the gas car got ASR, likely only on the late '93-up cars with M104 or V-8s, where the electronic throttle was included, which was a braking-controlled anti-spin system, and only the diesels had the ASD option. Run the VIN to see what it has. Also, not sure that SLS was ever availale on US market 124s.
