What is this switch - 85 Euro 190E 16V
I have an 85 Euro 16V that has a numbered dial (numbered from 1 to 7) near the battery. I think it is used to retard the timing. I have the CD rom for my car but I cannot find this numbered dial anywhere and hence, cannot adjust it properly.
Can anyone help me to identify this and what number it should be set on? Thanks mrossipir@yahoo.com mrossi |
You are correct. I think it is used on the euro market so the engine can run OK on different fuels.

1000% correct! Timing correction for POOR quality fuels! Euro 16V engines had 10.5/1 compression & NO knock sensors.

Thanks guys - OK, so if i am running 94 octane Sunoco gas, where sould the dial be set? i.e - at what setting will I get the most power from the car without sacrificing too much fuel or too much over heating?
