Front brake rotor swap

I will be swapping my front rotors and pads this weekend as well as bleeding the fluid.

I was wondering if someone could answer the following questions:

1. I looked at a W123 How to for a rotor change. Is the 124 the same?
2. Will I need new pad sensors?

Any tips or tricks? Things to look out of? Words of wisdom? Words of warning?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Rotors planned are Zimmerman parts, with Textar (can't remember the exact name) pads. Is this a good combo?

Pretty much the same, Good idea to install new sensors as they are not very expensive.

Just put new rotors, rebuilt calipers, pads, sensors and hoses on the '88 420SEL.

Suggest you try ******** as they often have great prices on premium RAYBESTOS rotors (as in $37 each) & rebuilt calipers, both loaded or unloaded (mine were A-1 Cardone @ $57 each, I already had a set of pads)...

Just like new! Mercedes brakes from this era are wonderful, IMHO. Great braking "feel" & control.

Cheers!

The 124 is not the same as the 123. The 124 is actually a lot easier, no need to remove the hub to replace the rotor.

Agreed. Instead of removing the whole hub and such, there is simply a set-screw (Allen head). WAY easier.

Good to hear it's easier. I've changed rotors before and it was easy, but after reading the 123 how to it seemed much more complicated.

Do I need to spray the pads with anything?
What is this brake paste?
