Can you rebuild a 300e Auxiliary Fan?

I thought I'd read a while back about being able to replace the bearing and bushes in the aux fan to put it back to new. Does anyone have any experience doing this? Can I order the bushes from Mercedes?

Thanks!
Scott

I remember reading a article on the diesel forums about this. You might want to try a search there.

Ok, cool. Hopefully the same advice applies to the larger w124 16" fan. I'll give it a shot! Thanks guys.

I tryed it on my wifes 1992 300D 124 and you cant get the fan apart. Try taking it out and cleaning it up real good, some times the brushes get stuck. I bought a used set of fans and then I cleaned up the old ones and they work now.
