Basic fuel system bleeding
 

I tried looking this up but i foundly only slightly related topics.
i want to change my inline and spin on filters i got very cheap thanks to fastlane. any way, once i get them on how do i bleed the fuel system using the hand pump? my haynes manual says loosen the spin on filter nut in one place and on another page says just pump till you hear a hissing sound from the "bypass valve" other places say open the hollow nut and pump. which hollow nut there are 2. does any one have a tried , tested and simple way to do this.

I loose the hollow nut that has an arrow indicating the fuel is going out of the housing. Doing so will get you fill up the fuel filter quickly, then, following the normal steps as stated in the owner's handbook to start the car.
