1. As a fellow GI I should tell you to do a search first this is probably a common question.
2. From my experience (user, follower, advice taker and comparison researched) Bosch are the best for your car I would go with the Supers because Platinums are not as good with this application. If you’re talking about Mercedes-Benz in general it depends on the year. Anyhow do the search. 3. Didn’t you ask this question back in Aug.? Thai GI sends...

Factory OEM Plugs, not platinum. Just the regular standard factory plugs for the car.
Bosch are it. Alon

Bosch or Champion, either one work well. The platinum plugs are to be avoided for two reasons; the center electrode is too thin causing a rough idle, and the platinums have been known to break resulting in destroyed engines.
Good luck, |

What about the silver's?
I hear they are supposedly the best choice. I have been using regular copper Bosch so far and wouldnt use any other brand. German made stuff for a german made car! My 3 pennies of opinion. Thanks for the info in advance guys! F.J.

Oh come now! We're not talking about some complex component like an injection or electronic part. We're talking about a spark plug. You know, no moving parts, you get the material and heat range right and when a high voltage is suddenly applied, a spark jumps across the electrodes.
Believe it or not, it will do this job in a German car, even if it is made in the USA, Mexico, Japan, etc. When we get to the components that have moving parts or complexity, I'll buy in on the "German part for German car" theory. My $0.02, |

Agree, Larry.
Some purists may even want to put German air into the tires. |

Don't know about 'German air' but I've seen Bosch parts labelled "made in Spain, Brazil, Singapore and India"!
Happy Motoring, Mark

You guys probably wont believe it but we had a few customers come in with freshly tuned Benzes (at some local mechanic shops) with new plugs etc and they just didnt want to run right until we changed the new plugs (correct heat range, gap and all) to Bosch coppers. Another local mechanic claimed his Audi refused everything except Bosch plugs.
Hey guys, where can I get the german air here in the US? Ha,ha,ha! You have to excuse me on my "fanatism", I am originally from Germany, so I am a bit more partial to german products and brands than the average Joe. Now what about the silvers? Any feedback on those? My boss (former mechanic at MBZ of Hollywood, this guy worked on Elvis's 600 Pullman and still complains about he air-suspension on these cars) claims they are the best there is. To 1991 500SEC: Glad you know and enjoyed Hilo. Great place but the climate is not too good for cars. Too humid and too much rain.
