experience makes all the difference
well i finally completed one side of the front end last night... guide rod mount and bushings, brakes, new rotor, new bearings and races. been slowly working on it for weeks.
so this afternoon decided to get on with the other side. so far in about 4 hours i've replaced the guide rod mount and both bushings, removed hub and pounded out the races. new races in the freezer preparing for installation. not fast enough for a shop obviously, but i'm thrilled. if i keep at it this evening, i may even have it all back together by tonight. we'll see how motivated i am. nothing like having done something once to give you the confidence to do it again. |
Take any pictures to share?

no i didn't.. couldn't have done that job without all the help here though.
i guess i could take a picture of the home made tool i made for pressing out and pressing in the big rubber bushings of the guide rod bearing carrier. basically just a big 6" bolt and some big washers, PVC pipe and a little lube i'll try to take some. see what i can do. |
