abs 560sl

I need help. I have a 88 560sl. low miles like new.last week the abs light came on, I have done a lot of things,nothing fixes it.would someone tell me the procedure for testing the three abs cables and sensors. thanks miker

Does the light stay on, all of the time after starting OR
does the light go out & then come on after driving??

The answer is very different dependant on the your issue.

Are there any other issues like a high idle?

all time

light stays on all of the time. the running idle etc, are fine.thanks miker

The most common reason for that type of problem is the power supply relay on the ABS hydraulic unit.

Seems to me I had that issue once and the OVP relay's internal fuse (red 10A) was blown.

more abs

Thanks for the help.the behavor of the abs light has changed.I started the car yesterday, the light went out.I drove it for a couple of miles, then the light came back on.I had cleaned the sensors and cog wheels. thanks again.mike r
