Point taken.
Unfortunately, I had not (until a few minutes ago) found anything that resembled the pieces I found. Then I stumbled upon the attached picture. To check (and replace) these guide rails, I assume I need to pull the valve covers to gain access? Thank you for all the input. Much appreciated. |

Guide rail is what i thought when i saw the heading...and that SHOULD be the only thing that could get to the oil pan...but looking at those pieces the small pieces look kind of like a broken version of the two U-shaped pieces. Kind of looks a little like the retaining tabs on some electrical connectors to me. Could that be??
