91 300te no pwr fm stop after warmup

'91 300te w/130000 miles.
starts very well on cold mornings. accelerates very well.
after ten minute/7 mi drive won't accelerate from stop. throttle seems to be sticking. after two or three times low, creeping acceleration engine seems to be more responsive but not as responsive as first start from cold in the morning.
any ideas on things to check.
nervous and frustrated.
i have had lots of old mercedes but this is the first time i have run into this problem.
thanks,
jerry green

Start with the basics. Fuel filter, overvoltage relay. Then go into involved diagnostics.

thanks donnie, i bought the car about a month ago and thought they had checked all those things. the problem did not start until we started getting cold weather here in washington. i will follow your advice and recheck the basics.
where is the overvoltage protection located?
thanks again,
jerry

I would also consider having your O2 sensor changed or an emissions test performed to check to see what you actual fuel:air ratio is.

connie, my mechanic spent a lot of time checking this problem of loss of power after full warmup. his theory is that maybe some part of the transmission is not shift causing the car to attempt to start off in third or fourth gear. i inquired if there were some solenoid in the throttle body area that was sticking.
how do i check out the transmission theory next time this occurs probably tomorrow morning.
mechanic recommended shifting into low and see if that makes a difference.
thanks,

300 te works fine no explanation

i think it is time to close the loss of power after warmup problem that occurred in my 91 300 te. all i did was fiddle with the throttle linkage, switch to premium gas and add a little injector cleaner and the problem went away. wish i knew why.
thanks for your help
