Help Me Decide Whether to Buy!
 

Hi All, Greetings and Happy New Year!

I'm looking at a '79 280E. From photos, everything looks like it is there and in good condition, except there is no belt on the AC compressor.

Can anyone tip me off to look for any issues which are particular to this car? FYI, this is a six-cylinder injected auto transmission.

Also, what kind of fuel mileage could be expected?

BE SURE IT IS WHAT YOU WANT. I would probably steer you toward a more modern gas burner or, if you have to get a 123, I'd suggest the CD if you can find one.

The 110 was a good engine when new, but now they are a problem to get worked on because of the age.

The D's will always be easy to get repaired.

Just my thought.
