ASR/ABS Light
PLease forgive me as I am new to the w140 Gasoline SEL world.
Went to auction and a 1992 MB 500 SEL is there, while checking out the car, I noticed that the ASR/ABS light is on the dash. The car had to be jumped to start (battery is clearly gone in this thing) and understand that low voltage can trip these systems up. Question is, in worst case scenario, would someone comment on the cost of ASR repair? Is this something I can do myself or do you need to buy a lot of special tools? Thanks J- |

Not sure if its the problem you have, but the ASR/ABS light after a dead battery just may need the wheel turned all the way to the left, hold for 10 seconds, then all the way to the right and hold for 10 seconds.

Plus one on doing the resets, that's very likely given your description.
If it comes back be sure the battery and alternator are working properly, after which the brake light switch would be the likely culprit. |
