92 300e benz ???

Hi everyone, I am confused about my car problems. Let me ask you guys, when my car is parked and running, every once in a while, it stalls and shuts down. But, when I opened the engine cap, where you put your oil in, and when I turn the car on it cranks right up. It troubles my mind. If anyone can come up with any ideas that would help me. Thank you all..

I think the oil cap release is unrelated and just coincidental.

Have you replaced your OVP? It is the number #1 cause of stalling. It only stalls when coming to a stop or idling. The ABS light on is also another indication although not always. It is just safe to replace it because the problems are so well known. A search will find you tons of information on it.

I would guess the fuel pump relay over the OVP. A bad OVP "may" cause a shut down, but in my opinion not usually. FPR WILL cause a shut down definitely.
