Dome Light
My front dome light doesn't come on when the door is opened. If I move the switch manually, the light comes on so the bulb is good. Rear works fine with opening and closing of the door. Any ideas appreciated.

Does it work from the passenger side? |

Can anyone help with my dome light problem. Front doesnt come on when either door is opened, but it works when operarting manually with the switch.
84 300DT. Thanks, Harry |
Each door switch sends a ground to the dome lamp & also to the lights in the bottom of each door.
Do the lights in the doors come on? Testing would be done at dome lamp with volt meter. |
Dome light
I dont have any lights in my doors, front or rear. The rear light comes on when the rear door is opened. Could both front door switches be bad or could one bad one cause this problem? Thanks for your replies.

The lamp is working when operating the dome switch manually. I pulled the door switches. No voltage. Whats next??

I made an error in my last post. I DO have voltage. It pegs the meter when set on 10v. On 50v setting I am guessing maybe 12V. I also have continuity on the switch itself disconnected on all positions; that is pushed slowly in and let slowly out continuity is present with no fluctuations. I would have thought pushed all the way in ,I would have no continuity. All replies appreciated.

My dome light issue has been resolved. I pulled both door pillar switches and cleaned the contacts with sandpaper and presto, everything works now. Many thanks for all the replies. Maybe someone else will find my solution helpful.
