'97 C280 722.6 Tranny Swap

I am helping a friend change out the tranny on his '97 C280.

What is different compared to the early transmissions? There is a connector on the rear of the trans that I took to be the speedo sender with a torx, how do I remove that?

Is there any special harness to unhook? I couldn't see any wiring.

How about the torque converter? 6 bolts like the earlier 722?

Thanks

The cable on the rear is the park interlock. Push the black button and pull the cable back, then release the lock tab and twist and pull it out. The torx stays in.
The wiring is on the frt right and a round connector. Twist the tab and the connector will pull out. Sometimes a screwdriver or something is needed to get the tab to start to twist. Torque converter is the same bolts.

Be sure to use the correct fluid. This trans takes the synthetic fluid.
Good luck,Robert

It would also be a good idea to flush the cooler lines and cooler to remove any debris left from the old trans. You don't want to trash your new trans.

Hello all, I'm new to this forum and I am trying to find out where I can purchase a set of parking interlock cables for my 1997 C280 sedan. I was told that they need to be replaced in order to stop a minor tranny leak. Can anyone help?
