w123 250

While picking at the junkyard I ran across a Grey w123 250. I've never seen one before and I'm told it's a Euro with a straight six.

Found out that it's a junkyard employee's car and he might sell it. No idea of the mileage. But needs a paintjob (one fender is a replacement), a little rust on the trunk lid, and needs a new grille. Is anyone interested? Are these things rare?

Did you note what transmission it had? If it is a 4 speed manual you will probably get some interest.

These cars tend to be the cheapest W123s you can buy - I don't think anyone likes the engine. If the body is good then I guess over here it would be most likely be bought for a diesel conversion...

I'll look next time I'm there.

Army, the body isn't nearly as good as others I've seen. The euro spec lights are in pretty good shape though.

The motor is mechanically similar to the much older M130 carb'd motor, except that it's a solex 4A1 carb rather than twin zeniths.

If it were a dead car being parted, I'd say take the distributor and the intake manifold. They are useful to the old straight 6 car owner that wants upgrade ignition and fuel supply with a megasquirt based TBI.
