1997 Control Arm Replacement

Hello all
I have a question concerning the control arm DIY. I have a 1997 E420. Has anyone completed the work and have info. they can share. I purchased new tires the other day and the mechanic said the right side rear needed upper and lower control arms. How much work is involved and is it a DIY job. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

W210 and W124 are similar

AND
Bodhibenz1987 has just gone through a complete W124 rear suspension R+R:

(This'll give you an idea if you wanna tackle it or not)

A subframe question (just the beginning ...)

[First question is Do You really need C.A. s ? Does this Guy KNOW Mercedes?]
If the Right side needs them then chances are the Left side does Too.

Control Arm

Thanks for the reply.
The right side wheel was loose when pulled on, where as the left side wheel was very tight and solid no movement at all. They pointed out that the bushing were in bad shape on that side. I mean you could really move the tire. I understand you should have a little pull on the wheel and tire but I am not sure if the amount of movement was correct. What other symptoms should arise when the c.a.'s need repair on that model. The shop does not do MB work exclusively. I went in to get tires and got other news.
Thanks
