Very brief buzz when brake pedal is depressed
1995 E320 Here's one I've never experienced before...
I just noticed that when I depress the brake pedal (I'm talking within the first centimeter of the pedal being depressed) I hear a very brief buzz that lasts a half-second, then disappears. I reapply the brake pedal, it does it again. I think the buzz is coming from behind the instrument cluster (?) The sound is so fleeting, it's hard to tell. What is this? |
I found that on my car if I open the door with the car running and press the brake the warning buzzer will sound very very briefly. Does the buzz sound like the warning buzzer?

Anti-lock cutting in?

In fact I did have the driver's door open when this was happening. It could be the same tone/buzz as the when leaving the key in the ignition...
Just prior to this, my ABS/ASR light came on and the ABS was not working. For codes, I got the usual #1 no fault found. I erased the code. While doing all of this, that was when I noticed this brief buzz. It's been raining up here for the past two-days. |
Normal for that to happen with key on & door open.

Thanks, I don't think I ever noticed that...

Just normal behavior with SBC braking. That electric pump keeps things "ready" for sure.
