ABS/ASR light on

RE: 1995 E320, this is really wearing thin on me... My ABS & ASR lights have illuminated probably four-times this week. Each time I retrieve the code, I get the one flash. I then clear the codes anyway for the hell of it, and the lights are off until this recurs. The car drives beautifully the whole time the ABS/ASR lights are on - no acceleration issues at all. The OVP was replaced last year with a quality MB-brand relay. When both of these lights illuminate, I have no ABS (I tested that feature in the sand just out of curiosity) until I clear the code. What gives?

others may be able to weigh in....but it could be the mas relay going south.

it's a multi function relay that replaced the fuel pump relay and the klima relay in those models..

It's in the area of the OVP by the battery or is it behind the fuse box with that group of relays?

MAF = Mass Air Flow sensor.

MAS (no idea why it's called that) is a cigarette packet sized box that plugs into the system via a multi-way connector. It is locked in place by a knob on top.

This MAS box does replace the fuel pump relay of earlier systems and is found in later KE-Jetronic systems.

It may also feature in the HFM systems of the original poster's vehicle but I don't know.

MAS is commonly used here for Mass Airflow Sensor (as is MAF). MAS needs to be followed by the word "relay" to be clear, and it was.
