W126 Headlight "door"?
For the winter I am thinking of holding off on Euro headlamps assemblies and just replacing the damaged plastic surround/lens. But the site I am looking at shows them as "headlight doors". Is that the right part? I would think it called something else. There is no part number to reference listed with the item.

Odd name, but that's what they're called. It's the clear plastic lens that covers the fog lights and wraps around the headlights.

Just curious, why would you spend money on these doors if you will replace them anyway?

The doors I have are not only in horrible shape, but a tread separation damaged one severely.
So I would like to take care of them quickly. If I go the Euro route, I will need wipers, etc. And those will take time to procure. So I am thinking, since its winter up here, that I may just get them fixed then spend the winter getting all the parts lined up for a proper Euro conversion. Also, being winter, there is salt all over the roads. I have already found the wipers to be valuable. So I really prefer to keep those going for the rest of winter.

Ah, I see. I didn't realize you had the wipers on your 560. That would definitely need to go and be replaced with the Euro wipers if the Euro lights are put on.
Looks like you'll completely transform the front end once all is said and done.

IMHO I wouldn't waste a cent on the US lights. Get euro lights and leave the wipers off for now.
The OEM W126 euro headlights are simply excellent. -Jason
