Repair Manual W126

The link gave me access to the data on the CD, but that's not as helpful as having the actual CD (or data) in the computer for those of us who do not have wifi where they work on their car.

I have 'located' the 2nd CD for the W126 through certain file sharing web sites (torrents) but haven't found CD1, which contain much of the info for my 86 300SDL.

Call MBZ today and they are all out of stock on the CD's, do not plan to make any more and don't sell paper manuals.

I'm disinclined to BUY the CD's off Ebay after hearing about the poor quality of their bootleg copies.

Any tips, or is a free OR 'not free but quality' 1st CD for the W126 now unobtainium?

Since MB added those files to startechinfo, looks like e-bay might be the last chance.

Care to share where you found CD2? None of the manuals in the link above seem to work for me. I just get a document not found error. My 89 SEC is apparently on CD2.

I purchased a paper body and chassis manual years ago but the quality on it is so poor I can hardly see anything in the pictures. It looks genuine, but I have a hard time believing it is.

I thought the Startek http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/ website was free. When did it change where one needs to have a subscription?

It is free. It has always been free, and for the past two years at least as required a no charge subscription.

No it's still free. I just renewed my sub last week, and the W124, W126, and W123 service CDs are still available

I'm stuck at the subscription sign-up page. It tells me I must select a subscription type (day, week, month or year). Is there a work-around? Am I missing something?

By the way, "subscription" in the pop-up is misspelled "subscribtion."

Am I being scammed?

This thread started regarding DVDs/CDs.

Those you simply call on the phone and order: 800.for.merc

The same information is available via paid subscription, which is where you are. And rather than having the information on CD/DVD, you can print it out from this resource and if you have a PDF writer software, save it to files. This method is the most updated, although of course there is not much updating as regards the older cars.

As for FREE, the only thing that's free is access to the spare parts system, i.e. EPC. That's at http://epc.startekinfo.com

NOBODY gives away access to service procedures ... unless they're doing so illegally.

Wrong, check: http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/doclist.jsp

Looks like things were added on July 10th of this year.

I think Kia gives away their service info too.

OK, got access to many models through workshop resources but the 210 is not among them. But the 211 IS available.

210 just hasn't been released yet?
