1991 300e mercedes oil pressure gauge

My car doesnt register an oil pressure unless going 60 mph and at that it only registers at 2000 rpm. When its hot is drops to less than 1. Is this a sign my engine is going? I have 191,000 on the engine. Any ideas?

Answer

Stop driving/running it.

This requires direct hands on diagnosis.
You need a good local MB specialty shop for this issue.

* It is possible the pressure sensor is bad = repair could cost $50.00 - $200.00 USD.

* The bearings and/or oil pump may be failing = repair could cost $1300.00 - $8000.00 USD.
