My car broke down today :(
 

Hi,

I was driving to see my grandma today. All of a sudden the car lost power and cut out. I tried starting it a few times and killed the battery.
I called the AA and they charged the battery. We managed to start the engine again, but as soon as I engaged drive or reverse it cut out again. Now it won't start at all. It turns over, there is a spark and the fuel pump buzzes, but it just won't start.
I had it towed to a garage, and they are going to look at it tomorrow.

The car is a 1989 300se with about 145k.

Any ideas?

That sounds about right. The guy from the AA said he thought it was something fuel related.
