1989 300ce headlight out.

Sounds simple, but it's beyond my comprehension.

Low beam drivers side out. High beam works.

Fog light driver side out.

I switched fuses, changed out bulbs with the passenger side, switched fuses again... tried another bulb ... no luck

the PO installed Euros......

This is the extent of my knowledge.... it seems when we bought the car something like this happened to the passenger side... my wife was out of town...and took it to a shop that did something.

Any ideas appreciated.

Sounds like one of the wires in the pigtail connector has come loose or there's a broken wire in there. Disconnect the plug from the back of the headlight. The plug is hinged like a door and pops open with a little flat bladed screw driver. Then you will be able to assess the condition of the wiring in there.

Re-soldering the connections is needed I'm sure. That's probably what the shop did to the other side.

As JohnM stated the wires need to be soldered. If there are any wire crimps used now is a good time to get ahead of future problems and do the job properly. Get you self some shrink tube and a soldering iron. Wire crimps on cars just lead to problems. As the connections start to oxidize the resistence increases and can also melt wires and cause shorts against body panels, burn out switches and blow fuses.

Like I said. The black plastic connector that you disconnect from the back of the headlight will pop open with a flat bladed screwdriver. Then you will be able to see each of the 6 connections and which one is broken.
