SRS light On

Hello friends, I have aquestion for you. While tighten a bolt on the steering column the SRS light went On.
I will like to ask wich scanner should I buy for it, I have a 1999 w210 E300D. I am planning to drive Mercedes benz for a while. I been reading aboput carsoft 7.4. I can buy for about $110 USD. ( seem a bit complicated..).
Is there any other way to turn off the SRS light? I do not want to take it to the dealer. Also I think is worth it to buy the scanner.
Is carsoft the most ideal scanner for MB? Is this only exclusive for MB or will it work in other brands?
Who is a reputable vendor to buy carsoft from? I see some vendors
includes the software with carsoft, some do not.

Thanks

Pedrodiesel

A scanner is the only way to turn off the light & after a repair in most cases.

You will need "hardware" as well as the scanner must be plugged into the 38 pin connector, under the hood.
