Blower Motor Door?
I have to replace the Blower Motor regulator. So while accessing it, I noticed this door or flap above the blower motor. It moves when you grap it and swing it on it's hinges. So I got curious and was wondering what controlled it since it seemed so loose. On the backside/underside of this flap or door is a plastic linkage that is broken
![]() I couldn't tell what it is supposed to be hooked to with my fingertips. Is this as big a problem as I think it is? If it stays in the position shown, can air circulate into the car? I imagine I broke this some 3 years ago when I changed the blower. Now to the PIC Link: ![]() Also, I have a missing diverter as evidenced by the red arrow. The arrow is pointing at the one that is present. Is this available to buy now? What is it called? Here's the PIC: Ohhh, one more question. Since I have the blower out, should I lube it wit something? It is only about 3-4 years old. Last 2, it hasn't run. If so what would be the perfect Lube for it for longevity? I will have it out for a while since I am waiting for the regulator I ordered.

I'm pretty sure I broke it when I replaced the motor a while back.. Or maybe it just died of Old Age. Thanx for that video, I've never seen it in action.
