O-rings for Denso AC compressor?

My '91 SE has a Denso 10PA17C compressor.
It's working great, but has developed an oil leak around the top plate seal or the hose o-rings. I cleaned it up and traced it down pretty carefully. definitely not the shaft seal, or a body O-ring.
I'm thinking of replacing those seals - looks pretty easy - rather than putting on a new/rebuilt compressor.

Anyone ever had this issue?
can I get the seals?

It's R12, so I'm betting $80-$100 that I can fix it and it'll live awhile longer - only 220K miles on it - Ha.

Tks,
DG

Those seals are still available from M/B. If you can live with the car apart a while I'd pull the seals out and take with you to order them. There are a few styles of seal rings that mount that top plate. With the old ones in hand it will be a lot easier to make sure you get the right replacements the first try.

At that mileage I would just replace the compressor, you've gotten your moneys worth out of it and then some. Prices on new (not reman) Denso have come down dramatically. I've seen $290 for the 10PA17. Doesn't seem worth repairing at that price.

Thanks.
Yeah a new one sounds like the best plan on the surface, but.....
Had some bad experiences last Ffall with my Vette, buying new Delphis; they had been sitting on the shelf for so long they were hard seized. First one would not build pressure, 2nd one makes scary noises. Going to try the third one next month.
Also, the MB Densos come with oil installed, and I bet it's PAG, so I'll have to try to get all that out and replaced with mineral oil, to stay with R12. That's why I'm thinking of prolonging the life on the original a while longer if I can.

Fair enough. Given you're in Dallas, you can probably just drive over to McCain's and pick up the needed parts at their counter. They're on Floyd Circle, roughly behind TI at LBJ & 635. Google 'em on up, they're a great shop.
