Sticky Valve

I believe I have a sticky valve lifter on my 300CE. When I start the car cold and accelerate I have a very faint ticking until the engine warms up a bit. Is there an easy way to try and clean up a sticky valve or is replacement the only way to go?

Doubt a sticky valve.. possibly a lifter is bleeding off.

Fairly easy replacement.

I have the same problem in my 420 sel. Does this mean replacing the lifter and how serious is this?
