W126 memory seating

I think I asked this in a thread, but not in a post starter. Are the passenger and driver's side memory seating integrated to some extent or separate. Neither side works at all even though both seats operate fine. Switches are cleaned and seem okay also.

Any quick ideas?

DRIVER SEAT WENT CRAZY

93-300e, I am almost certain either someone dont want me driving this car or they're trying to kill me because this morning on my way to work making @ 80, my driver seat started moving agressively to the front and i counteracted that with the manual switch and it switched direction and was going all the way to the back, it went on back and forth like that for an eternity, now i am only 5.8ft that was scary, this thing went on like that for about the last 4 miles to work ???? i have never experienced nor heard that be4, does anyone know what in the world is going on ???

Each seat its memory control unit mounted under the seat.

Note that the control units for 1991 cars are different. I don't know if they interchange with prior years.

Yes. They are individual systems.

They are non-interchangeable, the wiring is completely different at the switch. I'd imagine you could graft wiring harness and control unit from donor car, but seems like a lot of work. For me, I'm the only one who drives my car, so the memory function is all but useless.

Ok. Thanks. Odd that both would be out, but since I know for sure they are independent I will look for the issue further up the chain than at each switch/unit. Will speed things up.
