Newer Models: Wire Connection at Thermostat
Hi, does anyone know why the newer cars have a harness connector on the thermostat housing? I understand it has something to do with the thermostat but it is not exactly a temperature measurement. is it a thermostat position feedback, or? I have noticed this is being used on some other makes as well.

On most cars that is a heating element to control the opening of the thermostat.
And by monitoring the current draw, can also calculate temperature. |
