mirror control switch

does anyone know how to remove the mirror control switch on the 1999 E200?

The switch is part of one large unit, which includes the windows and trunk switches. Access is by using a plastic wedge to prise up the shifter console cover from the bottom (side closest to the rear of the car) which will release the plastic clips/hooks that hold it in place.
