How big is your E320/420 trunk
I'm considering replacing the small fuel tank (16 gallons) in my '96 E300D with the larger tank (21 gallons) that came in the E320/420. (EPC says large tank 210 470 55 01 is an option for the E300D.) Does this leave less room in the trunk? The extra 5 gallons has to go somewhere!
Someone with a '96-99 E320/420, please tape the depth of your trunk and let me know what you get. My E300 trunk depth is about 35 inches (see pictures). Jeremy

Jeremy, the trunk in my 1998 E320 is only 33" deep. If you go with the larger fuel tank you will need the corresponding trunk trim pieces too.

Paneling
Good catch, Fred. The rear panel is indeed different -- A210 693 00 91 for the 65L tank and A210 693 08 91 for the larger 80L tank. The side and bottom panels are the same, according to EPC. Thanks.
Jeremy
