1994 E320 M104 - correct way to adjust throttle cable

What is the correct way to adjust the 1/4" slack on the throttle cable?

Thank you! :o

My W124 M104 issue

I got code11 on pin14.

I read to adjust throttle linkage, making sure to have 1/4" slack.

Please help! :o

ASR or no?

1994 E320 Wagon Non-ASR

I think you're doing the ASR code list. Non-ASR is just fuel safety shut off. Just clear the code and see what happens. What are your symptoms?

I got code11 on Pin14. I reset it 2 weeks ago and got "limp home" mode. It won't go over 1500rpm. No other codes on pin8 and pin14. this code11 keeps on coming back. I really don't want to bring it to dealership. I would like to get some advice and info from the forum because of owners actual experiences and Mercedes Benz experts.

Since i got this car 2years ago. I have replaced the following: ac compressor & evap, MAF sensor, SOV, EGR, wiring harness, ETA rebuilt, OVP, new interstate battery, brake light switch, coils, wire set and sparkplugs. I love driving this car, It idles 750rpm without vibration and power is there when i need it.

The "limp home" mode happens after driving the car for 30minutes. To clear it, i pull over and turn-off engine for 30-45secs and start it , i can drive it again. This "limp home" mode happens intermittent. Sometimes, after the car warm up in 30mins or after driving for 1hour.

Also, i will be replacing the voltage regulator this weekend as the ABS, SRS warning lights are "on" when i turn on the blower and the blower does not blow air.

Thank you!

hello,

According to the haynes manual, the throttle cable adjustment calls for: (@ idle) .5-1.0mm slack between the compression spring at the end of the accelerator cable inner and the plastic retaining block in the throttle guide lever. the 1/4" (6.3mm) would be way too much, and i doubt the car would have much power with that much slack in the cable.

the following link: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/tech-help/137397-m104-code-11-pin-14-re-start-problem.html
and the ABS light point to a bad OVP. i know that you mentioned that you have already replaced it, but it may be toast, perhaps because of the bad voltage regulator?? but, i am not 100% sure.

if i recall correctly, the blower motor has a fuse/metal strip in its own designated black plastic housing, located in the vicinity of the fuse box, open up the fuse housing cover and check it out.

how did you come to the conclusion that your voltage regulator is bad? how much voltage is it putting out? 13-14Volts should be ok.

good luck
