Front pulley bolts
Hello I have a 1980 Euro W126 280SE with 128,000 on the clock. The bolts that hold on the front pulley to the harmonic balancer seem to have sheared off. I was lucky and it happened as I pulled into my street so I was able to limp home and park it in my driveway. I have put less than 800 miles on the car and have no history of work done on the car. What would cause this to happen? I only have one of the bolts and it is not complete. What length are they, and what grade should I use to replace it? I know they are 8mm 1.25 pitch. I am going to go to a commercial fastener supplier for them.
Thanks for any help.

I don't know the length, but if they sheared, they had to be loose. They don't rely on the bolt shaft to hold on the pulley, but rather the pinch action of the tightness of the bolt. I would get at least grade 10 on these/ I don't remember the length, but I think it is about 17mm or so.
