Removing aux fans and shroud (m103)

How difficult is it to remove the aux fans/shroud after removing radiator? Did a search found nothing and the CD mentions nothing about it.

I need to take them off to "easy-out" a stripped hex bolt holding my fan clutch on.

If someone's done this without removing the clutter, please share your secret with me!

TIA

~Paul

Snap-on makes a great tool and you don't even have to take out the radiator. The extractors come in a set, and I think there are about 8 different sizes in the set. They are about 30mm or so long and have a left hand scribe on the top. You just get the right one, clean the head of the bolt and use a long box wrench with a pipe to crack it loose.

If you take out the radiator, you will also have to take out the A.C condensor. You don't want to do that!!!

Donnie:

Thanks for the tip! Is this the set you speak of?

I sure as hell don't want to remove the AC condensor:rolleyes:

I found this extractor set on their online catalog, here:

Thanks again!
