E320 - 430 Normal operating temperature

Please help with info on normal operating temp. for these two cars. A test drive on a 97 E320 after ten minutes and two minute idle showed gauge over 85-90.

This is perfectly normal, the mechanical fan does not kick in until 95 C. Temp should be over 80C on the highway and will probably be in the 90C-100C range at idle.
