sliding roof

My next project is the sliding roof on my 300e. I have no power at switch and checked fuse block and there was no power there either. I got the switches for the seats and most of the windows to finally work. What should I be looking for the roof? Is there another fuse or a relay? Last owner had a detector wired into the roof wiring and must have fried something. Any help would be appreciated. Thanxx

sliding roof and new merc

Well i have now got the sliding roof working. I rewired it and it functions flawlessly. I just added another mercedes to the stable. 2004 c240 4matic. Lovely little car and what do you know everything works. On my 1987 300e my next project is the cruise control. It doesnt function at all. The fuse seems to be good. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Very likely it's the cruise control amplifier or the stalk switch on the steering column, but could even be non-standard wattage brake light bulbs.

Cruise control problems with that vintage is likely either the control amp (bad solder joints on the PCB) or the throttle actuator which is under the intake runners of the engine.

is there anyway to test the amp without replacing it first? and of course the stupid question is where is it located. The previous owner of this poor merc did little to no maintinance at all.The good part of that is it makes it the perfect project car but still a shame. With the help of this forum i have rebuilt both seat control switches, have gotten the power windows to function, the stereo works now, and the euro lights. Thanxx to all for all the help.
