laptop car mount?

Hey all, I was looking for a laptop car mount for my laptop, like most police cars have, except I'm looking for one where you do not have to drill a hole in the floor, as I'd prefer not to put a hole in my floor But, does anyone know of one? I'd really appreciate it, thanks guys! And if anyone else has a laptop in their car and wants some ideas, let me know, i've done plenty hooking it up in the car.

I fly a lot for my job, and occassionally enjoy looking at the Sky Mall magazines that are in the seat back pocket.

They have a lot of really interesting things for sale, and I've seen laptop stands / holders for use in a car.

I don't think they attach or screw into the floor, but it may be worth a look to see what they have.

They have a website - www.skymall.com.

Have fun.

I do not remember where I saw it I think I have seen one that hooks onto the steering wheel. No drilling but cannot be used while driving, so it might not work with data-loging (as I would like to do on my Miata after the Turbo is installed) and for Mp3 use.

Hey, i found one that doesnt use drilling, it actually looks pretty good and for a pretty decent price:

What i've also done is used my infrared built in port on my thinkpad to use a household remote control to control winamp while i'm driving, its awesome.

I sure hope you don't use your computer while driving down the road. They're trying to make a big deal about using cell phones while driving. You can at least watch the road while talking on a cell phone.

Driving as much as I do and as long as I've done it, I've seen people doing all kinds of things while driving. I've seen numerous people reading while driving, women putting on their make up while driving, and I've even seen a lady putting on her panty hose while driving, but typing on a computer while driving would definitely take the cake.

Good luck,

Actually using a laptop while driving is not that bad. Some use it to "datalog" or get information from an aftermarket ECU like might be used in a turbo kit such as I want to put on my Miata. They can also be plugged into the stereo and used to play MP3s. This allows you to keep your whole music collection on the computer hard drive. You do not really have to type while driving, except to hit the space bar or enter key to start a datalog or skip a song on a play list. I would not recommend typing a novel but there are uses that take your eyes off the road less than a typical indash stereo.
