Mercedes C240 Do It yourself Oil Change with Pictures (W203)
Hey guys this was a very quick oil change and not tough to do at all! This Oil Change Do It Yourself applies to all Mercedes C240 and is very similar with a lot of other Models as well.
All you need is: 1) 8 Quarts of Mobil1 0W40 Or Castrol Syntec 5W40 2) 1 Fleece Type Oil filter (Fleece filter is white, not the cheap paper colored kind) 3) Pneumatic/Manual Fluid Extractor ( 9.5 L Capacity) It is very difficult to change the oil on this car without raising the car on a lift, I advise you to use a Pneumatic/Manual Fluid Extractor with a large capacity. I paid $100 dollars for mine. 1) Simply warm up the car. Park on a flat surface and Turn off the car. Remove oil filler cap. Place the Pneumatic/Manual Fluid Extractor near the front passanger tire and place the hose as far as it goes until you feel and hear it touching the bottom of the oil pan. 2) Pump the Manual Fluid Extractor a few times and watch the oil come rushing out. Make sure the engine has been ran for at least 20 minutes first as this will help remove as many containments with the oil as possible. 3) Un-tighten Oil Filter housing and make sure you are wearing gloves or you will need lots of paper towels. Remove old filter and provided elastic washers. 4) Continue pumping the fluid extractor until you notice there is nothing coming up through the hose anymore. The hose will actually start to look clear as well. That's it all your oil is out. 5) Install new oil filter and elastic washers on housing and tighten back into position. 6) According to the Mercedes Manual this engine requires 7.9 US qts of oil (7.5 L's). I initially Added 7 quarts of oil. Start up the car for a couple minutes and in the mean time reset your FSS. Then check the oil level through the in dash cluster. During my test the screen showed add 1 L of oil to reach max. Add the next .9 qts of oil at your discretion. 7) Let the engine rest for the next hour. Then enter the Dyno mode screen on your Indash cluster and it will show you the exact measurement of oil in your engine. During my test you can see in the picture that it shows 7.5 L's of oil which is perfect. 8) Clean up as you are done. If you have any further questions, please call your local Mercedes dealer because they will convince you to come in and not trust what you have just read online.

Mercedes C240 Do It yourself Oil Change with Pictures (W203) - HOW TO CHECK THE OIL
This is how to check the oil on your Mercedes C240.
First check via the default check oil screen. Which in my case told me to add another 1 litre of oil. This test was done after adding 7 quarts of oil. This car requires 7.9 quarts of oil. Then enter into dyno mode and check the exact measurement of oil. This Dyno mode test should be done about 45 minutes after the engine was last run. In my case it shows a perfect 7.5 Litres (7.9 quarts)
