1982 240d mercedes- turn signals not working
 

ok, I have had this old girl for three years now, one day going to work, no turn signals (it was raining) I have fixed the turn signal before took apart cleaned and put back together a year ago. But before I could still manually click it and show I'm turning. Now nothing. no turning indicator lights nothing. took combination switch out and the green wire was broken off, thankfully there was enough wire I stripped it and resoldered it to its connection, reinstalled, still nothing, I have checked the fuse box no fuses are blown. I'm wondering if maybe it blew the bulbs in the indicator panel? not sure where to go from here should I replace the combination switch or look elsewhere?

Turn your hazard switch off and on a few times. Does that work to get all four corners blinking? If not, you'll need to replace the relay there, if so, you'll need to keep troubleshooting.

i have a 1976 240d. the hazard lights work but not the turn signals.

Switch on the column? Removal, disassembly and cleaning should be more/less straightforward.

Thanks Yak. You are talking about the switch that also controls the wipers? I can't see how to remove it.

Check your PMs. And disconnect the battery before starting, I think the lines may be hot. I'm not sure, but safer is better than sorry.

just a thought....
 

even though fuses may look good, not blown, they may not be making good contact (been there) doesn't hurt to pull them and examine them for little ring indentations where they seat in the fuse box, usually if you see those, they may not be making good contact anymore, either clean them up with some sandpaper/emory cloth or just replace them and be sure. just a thought based on some frustrating experience....

Is there a separate fuse for the turn signals and another for the hazard lights? Also the backup lights are not working.
