Blower motor
 

'91 420 SEL.
Wife was sitting in bank drive up with the A/C on when the blower suddenly just stop running.
Checked the fuse box. All good. Noticed note on bottom of fuse box lid on the bottom of the legend paper that says "fuse blower motor outside fuse box"
Ok, thinking it's just a blown fuse. Does anyone know where outside the fuse box it would be?

Mounted near the brake booster on the "cardboard" firewall partition.

Black plastic housing, also check fuse #5 in the fuse box

Here's what I found. After testing the #5 fuse,fuseable link, and resistor. I removed the blower motor and found it stiff.
Removed the plastic support bracket and cleaned.
Removed the squirrel cage and cleaned.
Blew out motor with compressed air.
Sprayed the motor with contact cleaned.
Sprayed bearings with carb cleaner.
Blew out bearings.
Checked brushes about 3/8" length remaining.
Lubed each bearing 2 drops with Moble I syn.
Runs easy and smooth.
Problem solved. Just a dirty motor with end of life lube.
Had the same problem with one of my aux. fans awhile back.
Same repair procedure and its / they are still running fine.
