Question How much oil goes in receiver/dryer when replace

I have replaced compressor and reciever dyer. So oil did come out when system was evacutated I estimate about 1 ounce.

I can not find the specs. on how much to add to compressor, reciever/dryer, and lines when the system has been opened up to repairs.

Does anyone know amount or can you direct me to source. I used to have this info. but can not find it.

You need to tell exactly what car you are talking about..
it varies...
and I do not know..
but sometimes that is written on a tag in the engine compartment... you could look there until someone shows up with specifics numbers...

Car is a 1992 300 TE. So it's a 124 chassis with a 103 engine.

I did not have that info

Thanks sptt for that service sheet. Ron, I'm messing with my 91 TE as well.

My system vent temps have been "sort of cool-ish" to now "barely not warm-ish", so I'm going over all. The PO had it converted, and had a new compressor installed. I replaced the expansion valve and O rings spring 2010, and had the system evacuated and recharged by the Indie. I replaced all the vac pods over Christmas holidays. Now I'm looking for leaks.

God forbid I have to do yet another evaporator.

I removed old compressor and I turn compressor there was no suction form the side that should be producing suction. Replaced with spare compressor, pulled vacuum and when I check this morning it had leaked down some. I'll put some dye in and charge and see what happens.

Found two leaks, fixed with new o-rings. Charged 2.028 lbs. of R134a.

With outside ambient temp at 97 degrees the vent temp is between 46-47 degrees. This was on the test drive where I drove on the interstate. Stop and go traffic is not that low of vent temp. But it's always been that way since it's a converted system that used to hold 2.4 lbs of R12.

the charge should be closer to 1.8 lbs. too much 134 will cause poor cooling. good luck, chuck.

It did not sound like you checked for leaks using pressure...recommended standard procedure...
Also recommended ....not putting dye into the system....
If you go over to the Diesel forum you can find lots of AC help...
