How to know if engine mounts need to be replaced (M102) W123?
Is there a way and Specification to measure if the engine mount of a W123 M102 have sagged/weaken and need replacement?
Thanks in advance |
Do you have excessive vibration?
If you place a block of wood on a jack under the oil pan & raise the engine just a bit, does that vibration go away? |
Vibration when on acceleration and deceleration :(
Just fitted Febi mounts recently...could be imitation cos many users suffered collapse of these (new) Febi mounts Wonder if anyone has manual showing the way to measure if mounts have collapsed. |
Did you replace the transmission mount as well or just the engine mounts ?
Possibly a collapsed transmission mount. |

Vibration when on acceleration and deceleration
Suggest check both front and rear rubber couplings . Next i would look at the center drive shaft bearing mounting. Loosen the transmission mount as well and its bracket and re tighten to remove any stress or misalignment error. |
Just replaced my engine mounts when I replaced my engine and now I can't tell if it is on beside the sound of the engine (w124). It use to vibrate and shake a little when idling.

Yea, decided to get my mounts replaced along with the transmission mount. Vibration at a stop with the foot on the brake but much less when I shift in neutral. It's time! |
