1999 E320 Wagon electrical issues

I have been reading the threads and have not found an issue quite like mine. When I unhook and then reconnect the battery, my driver and passenger power windows, doors, steering wheel and seats work. Then after some time the windows, mirrors, seats, and steering wheel adjustments stop working. The back seat windows work fine. I can raise the driver and passenger windows with the key in the door lock. The radio thinks the CD changer is empty, then finds the CD's, then loses them again.

I checked all of the fuses, cleaned the battery terminals, and tried to reset the window switches when they were working. I think I might have a bad ground. I read some where that a ground behind the instrument cluster might be the problem. How can you tell if the ground is bad? with a mutimeter? How do you fix the ground.

Any help or links to threads that might help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sounds like an interior network issue to me.

Checking the low/high voltage "can" wires would be my starting point for that issue.

"Can" wire DIY?

Are their any DIY threads on Checking the low/high voltage "can" wires. Is this something that requires a code reader or can it be done with a multimeter?
