Thoughts on 95 S320 w/ 10k miles

I'm venturing over from the diesel forum to help out my dad. His friend (who owns a couple older MBs) found as part of an estate sale a 1995 S320 with (allegedly) 10,000 miles on it. I did tell him he should make sure it comes with records that can verify that. His friend said it's basically perfect inside and out. They want $7,500. I know this isn't a very rare model, so even a museum piece isn't going to bring a price far above the general value, but just curious what others feel about the price. I realize a 16-year-old car is still going to have rubber parts that need to be replaced even if it's been barely driven. Hoping to find out more about the car's background later this week (my dad is going up there Friday). Anything else he should look for outside the usual (i.e., problems specific to this model)?
I don't think my dad is looking for a daily driver, but he loves the w140 w/ the smaller engine and has had his eye out for one for a while.
Any thoughts or advice appreciated.

If it checks out, I would jump on it. That sucker would easily bring $15K on eBay. And for a driver...it would be a great experience.

Refresh all the fluids and I think you are good to go! Rubber stuff should be fine if it was garaged. Most of the rubber stuff on my car is original, and its only been garaged about half the time and always driven in winter.

That's the best year of the best model, especially if a short wheel base. And it's terribly underpriced. About nine out of ten seemingly underpriced cars have some serious hidden secret flaw, but of course this could be the gem that doesn't.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input! I got the feeling it was a good price, but it's hard to compare because there aren't a lot of 10k-mile examples floating around at there to use as yardsticks. I don't know the whole story, but I get the feeling the person selling the car is more interested in seeing it go to a buyer they like than making a lot of money off it.
Really, really hoping it turns out to be as good as it sounds and my dad can get it. I'd love to go look at it myself, but I have to be at work too early that day to make the drive up and back.

Heckuva ride in my opinion. If you change plugs or do any engine work that disturbs the engine wiring harness plan on replacing it. I have a friend that owns one and he said it gets decent mileage.

I would definitely replace the tires, do a transmission service and an oil/filter change.

He bought it! I don't know any details, he couldn't call me because he's on the road, but my mom relayed the message. Very excited to hear more and see the car. I'm not sure when he'll be bringing it home but I'll be sure to post pictures.

Yeah, put up some pics. I love the low-mileage older cars; time capsules that are driveable.

Buying a S320 was the smartest thing I've done, besides My SD.

Smooth power and 29 mpg. hwy.

In addition to this being a great buy...it could also help forum members.

How many older benzes are out there with such low mileage. His updates and fixes will be good benchmarking material.

A 16 year old Benz with only 10,000 miles is better than new, because you couldn't go buy a new 95 S320 today. Hopefully your family enjoys it.

On with the pictures already too!!!!

Having the long sheel base model of that car, I would say he made a wise choice. wiring harness... also, check the rear springs and perches on the front. Chainge fluids... Have fun... Won't quite get 29 mpg though...
