280CE K-Jetronic

Hello again. I would be grateful for advice. My 280CE is very weak starting. If I put my foot down before its warm it bogs and stalls. When it's warm, it runs stronger but I also suspect its running rich. When I decelerate there's a strong smell of gas. I've changed the cold start valve and tried to locate the auxiliary air valve so far without success. I've also had a look at the warm-up regulator. From what I've read it sounds like this device is the culprit .... what do you guys think???

Do you hear a whine when you turn the ignition on? If so, that's from the injectors when they are feeding too much gas.

Probably the fuel distributor if it's running rich. if it's just hard start then it could be the fuel accumulator.

you need to test it with the fuel pressure gauge or have it tested by someone who's got the tool. guessing with kjet will cost serious money as that stuff has gone out of sight. there's too many variables and the control and rest pressure numbers will tell what's ok and what's not. good luck, chuck.
