Trying to locate my fuel filter 87 300E
I ordered a shop manual for the o'l wagon, but in the interum I'm interested in replacing the fuel filter. Where is it located on this beast? I've looked under the car next to the frame (where most new ones are), under the bonnet and back by the tank. Can someone steer me in the right direction? Danka.

Look under the car on passenger side back. It will most likely have a cover over the whole fuel apparatus.

Yes, there is a plastic cover just in front of the right rear wheel well. The filter is mounted horizontally and easy, albeit messy, to change. Use flarenut wrenches for the job and make sure you put the arrow on the filter in the right direction.
Good luck, |
